A small scholarly website with a deliberately small data footprint.
What the site collects
The public site has no user accounts, comments, advertising trackers, or newsletter database. Standard web-server logs may temporarily record technical information such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp, and referring page for security and operational purposes.
Contact inquiries
When you use the contact form, the name, email address, organization, inquiry type, and message you provide are sent by email to Russ McBride. The website does not add that information to a marketing list or store it in a website database. Email systems may retain the message under their ordinary retention and security practices.
External links and embedded media
Links to UC Merced, ORCID, Google Scholar, SORAC, YouTube, journals, and other external services are governed by those services' privacy practices. Video thumbnails are served locally; visiting a linked video takes you to YouTube.
